Residential projects often present some of the most exciting and challenging work for our engineers, particularly when the architect’s creativity has been given free rein.

From private houses (large or small) to multi-storey apartment buildings, residential developments have their own special challenges, particularly with regard to structural grids in such areas as underground car parks, which are so much a part of such projects these days, or complex roof profiles.

On multi-storey projects we are faced with the further considerations of progressive collapse, where our engineers need all their skill and judgement to produce an appropriately robust, yet efficient design.
